Traditional artwork using ink and paper (8X11)

This traditional piece was finished in a couple hours. The products I used to work on this piece are Micron-pens. I used varying widths of Micron-pens to achieve the fine detail you can see in the final artwork. I used a cross-hatching technique to add value, then finished the artwork off by adding white highlights using a white gel pen. I thought it would be interesting to add some mythicality to it by creating a whimsical design in the eyes of the skull.

Traditional Artwork using colored pencil and paper (8X11)

For this traditional artwork I used colored pencil and pastel matte paper. A family member and I went to an art shop here in Kansas City and learned how to create really convincing colored pencil pieces. The class taught me how to use value, color, and how important sharpened colored pencils are when creating detail.

Digital skull created in Adobe Illustrator (8x8)

This nontraditional digital piece was created in Adobe Illustrator. The artwork represents a human skull adorning a bright maroon rose on the side of its head. I decided to use Adobe Illustrator to add some dark blue hues to the skull's different vector shapes.
